If this saves you same time, the newest edition of this book is the 3rd edition of 2006. (This was written in the spring of 2009.)

Mastering Spanish Conversation is the subtitle of this book. While it has been a decent accompaniment for my Conversational Spanish class, it doesn't have the ability to help you master spanish conversation. Even though it claims such a feat, you will certainly have to do a lot more work than the examples in this book to achieve goals of fluency. The above explanation is my only problem with this book. Other than that, it provides a vast amount of vocabulary. It also goes over basic grammar, in case you need a reminder. The readings are very helpful and start out very simple to progress to more difficult passages later on. Over all, I am happy with my professor's choice of this text and think that it will help me out a lot when it comes to reading/writing spanish.

The book was the correct one for my class. I saved between $20-40 for the same required book at the local college bookstore. The receipt of the book was prompt.
