There are 27 chapters (8+ problems each), each with a different theme, plus a 40 problem final exam. There isn't much instruction, maybe 2-3 pages at the start of each chapter. This isn't a teaching book so much as a collection of good Intermediate Plus level problems. Its a very good review book. It helps being familiar with all these techniques ahead of time. Trust me, you will get almost all the deduction problems wrong if you haven't read a few othe books on the subject. (I'm much more rigorous in what I expect of an Advanced player. Knowing lots of conventions , basic bidding, not routinely making awful mistakes, and beating up on weak players (doing ok at a local club) doesn't qualify someone as an Advanced player.) Given how ratings are inflated, this book should probably be rated 5 stars because of all the problems (~265) and their varied nature.
