A good introduction to Muslim American Studies

Many of the articles within the book were written directly after 9/11, and address the issues Muslims in America have been facing since around that time. There is a lot of background and cultural discussion as well; such as how heritage figures into the developing concept of Islamic consciousness in America during these challenging times. It's best read along with Muslims in the United States: A State of Research.
