Construction Safety

We used a pre-publication version of this book in a course on construction safety that was taught at the University of Texas by Professor Hinze himself. Hinze is the "guru" of construction safety, and there are few academic studies on construction safety in which he was not invloved. The book contains chapters on subcontractor safety, substance abuse, incentive programs, problem areas, safety meetings, safety programs, to name just a few (over 20 chapters in all). Hinze backs up everything in the book with research results. Much of this research was done by Hinze or others at the Construction Industry Institute. I recommend it highly as a textbook for courses on construction safety, or as a reference for safety officers, project managers, or supervisors who are working in industry.
