Confessions of an Ex-Bachelor: How to Sift Through All the Games Players to Find Mr. Right

Let me just start by saying I love how William July conveys the message so clearly and plainly. It feels like he's your big brother or your no-nonsense uncle giving it to you straight. A great deal of what he says we know, ladies, but to hear it outlined in this way, is confirmation and finally catapults you to escaping the wayward path dictated by your emotions. At least that's what happened for me. ;-) Seriously, it really empowered me, in the true sense of the word, to move forward from a pseudo-relationship with one of the most dangerous types of bachelors, the one who is all about "me" and never "we" but enjoys all the benefits a committed relationship provides. How foolish of me. I agree with the young lady who said this book should be re-read. I've been passing it around and re-reading it too for months. Thank you Mr. July! Also read "You deserve healthy love, sis" by Dr. Grace Cornish. I think this is a great supplement to this book, depending on your situation, and her book has an interview with William July as well. Very nice.

This book was very helpful. It basically talked about the many excuses guys come up with, and the way we HELP THEM continue on with their excuses. I say that you must keep re-reading this book, because us women need a constant reminder about the games men play. Keep it under your bed, so you can read it again when your guy starts acting up. I say this is a must buy! With this book, it all becomes clear.

This book does an excellent job of explaining "players" to women and the ways in which they work. After reading this book, I feel confident that I can go out with men and ONLY allow them to treat me the way I want to be treated. This book has helped me understand the minds of men who I've dated whether they were a player or not. I have had my dealings with men who have commitment issues and this book explains that men will not commit until they are ready - no matter how great of a girl you are or how great of a guy he is. In addition, it teaches you how to deal with men who *may* be playing you - and retain your self respect and/or pride. This book does have a few suggestions on how to get a man to "settle" down or how to tell if he ever will, but it's not meant to teach you how to reel in a guy who is reluctant to commitment. Rather, it teaches you how to tell if they are ready or not so you won't waste your time and can continue dating around! I gave it a 5 only because I am a fairly tough critic.
