Supermodel Lou Kinipski has a problem. Oh, on the surface it looks like she has it all- beauty, a great career, and excellent taste in clothing. But Lou has some secrets, ones that would permanently end her career if anyone ever found out. Lou is a werewolf who changed her identity when she first transformed many years ago. Someone is now targeting beautiful women, women who look a lot like Lou. Will Lou be able to keep her secrets hidden when Detective Terry Shay comes looking for answers? CONFESSIONS OF A WEREWOLF SUPERMODEL is an excellent book on so many levels. Yes, it is has many of the light-hearted Manolo Blahnik shoe moments one would expect in a chick lit tale. And yes, Lou is concerned with her appearance, particularly when odd outbreaks of fur appear, as one would expect of a supermodel. But CONFESSIONS OF A WEREWOLF SUPERMODEL is much deeper than that. Ronda Thompson creates characters who are much more than their surface appearance would indicate. Lou Kinipski may be a supermodel now, but inside she still feels like an ugly, unwanted girl. The demons from her past haven't yet been dealt with as she ran away on prom night, not returning to face her adoptive parents or the ramifications of her actions. The juxtaposition between Lou's outside appearance and how she perceives her inner appearance adds layers to her character and keeps her from being another fluffy chick lit character. Even secondary characters, such as Cindy and Morgan, have unexpected layers. Ronda Thompson also did a fabulous job at incorporating a high level of suspense to CONFESSIONS OF A WEREWOLF. I couldn't stop turning the pages as the twists and turns just kept coming. I am deeply saddened to know there won't be further books along this line by Ms. Thompson due to her unfortunate death. Lou Kinipski wasn't always gorgeous and sexy. She used to be plain and ordinary, but seven years ago, she became a werewolf...then became beautiful. Terry Shay is a detective investigating the murders of several girls who look a lot like Lou. Lou doesn't think she is in any danger, but when her nightmares start becoming reality, she begins to get worried. Lou is a supermodel with a ton of problems. She's trying to figure out why she is a werewolf, falling for Terry, attempting to keep her friend Stefan at bay, following the killer into dark alleys, and then she discovers that she's not the only one with supernatural secrets. Confessions Of A Werewolf Supermodel is terrific! It's full of wit, sensuality, and tons of interesting characters. Terry is very sexy and Lou is gorgeous and funny. I enjoyed Confessions Of A Werewolf Supermodel very much but there is no closure at the end. I think there may have been a sequel planned but because Ms. Thompson has passed away, I don't think there will be one. Ronda Thompson was a wonderful paranormal romance author whose talent will be sorely missed by her fans, not only for the conclusion of Lou's story, but for all the books we won't get to read. I think her past is about to catch up with her... now!!! I had recently read the Midnight Pleasures anthology, which included a short story by Ronda Thompson. That was my first introduction to this author and I really liked her style. I expect to eventually read her Wild Wulfs of London historical romance series, but was quite happy to find this stand-alone novel by Ms. Thompson which was just published last month. I do hope she decides to continue these characters in a series of their own as I really liked this book a lot. I'd say it leaned more towards paranormal chick-lit, in the style of MaryJanice Davidson's Betsy Taylor series, as opposed to paranormal romance. We didn't have any sappy happily-ever romance/relationship issues. Lou's got her own real-life problems, but prefers to let the world think she's just an airhead supermodel with no brains. Her best friend Cindy is a lesbian, a makeup artist, and knew her back when she was still Shelly Billington. The many situations they get themselves into are touching, humorous, and fun. I truly enjoyed this book!!

Over the years, Lou assumed prom night was a bad dream until a PMS bout led to another furry conversion. Now as her hair germinates during a photo shoot, Lou knows she is a werewolf; only her best friend Cindy knows the truth about her other essence. Adding to her stress is a sudden horde of men interested in her. Photographer Stefan O'Connor tries to control his attraction as being unprofessional, but Lou senses his desire just like she wants him. NYPD Detective Terry Shay investigates the death of a woman who insisted she was Lou and private investigator Morgan Kane hired by Lou to find her parents is attracted to her. Now a stalker wants to destroy Lou. Fangs and fur fly in this amusing chick lit werewolf tale. The story line is fast-paced with a strong cast, mostly Lou and her male "pack" of sniffers. However, it is the twists and turns that keep the audience involved in this fun one sitting read as the other life of a supermodel is revealed. Harriet Klausner

Expecting a light fluff story, was pleasantly surprised to find a very solid and meaty adventure starring Lou, a supermodel with a secret. Or should that be secrets? Seven years ago on her prom night, Sherry, a plain and geeky girl was violently attacked by the school's handsome football star, beaten and nearly raped. That girl disappeared in a fury of rage and blood, and now in her place is gorgeous and confident Lou, New York Supermodel and closet werewolf, who is finally asking questions about who she is and why she sometimes grows fur, fangs and claws. What catches Lou completely off guard however is a string of violent murders of women who bear an uncanny resemblence to herself, and the tough and attractive homicide cop investigating not only the murders, but her. Mix in the hot fashion photographer she's been half in love with for the past 6 years, an infuriating but sexy Private Investigator whose growing more interested in her than the case she's hired him for, and a pyscho stalker whose scent makes her literally see red... Appears to be the first of an ongoing series, and includes a great supporting cast of characters. What I love about Lou is she is NOT a fluff brain. She's a pretty together lady with a pack of unanswered questions, plenty of guts, and a determination to get to the bottom of the mystery of why she's a werewolf and live a full and rewarding life. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and can't wait for more books to follow. MooncatX
