Book Overview

Part man, part...rock? Over seven feet tall and weighing over a thousand pounds, he is known as Concrete but is in reality the mind of one Ronald Lithgow, trapped inside a shell of stone, a body that allows him to walk unaided on the ocean's floor or survive the crush of a thousand tons of rubble in a collapsed mineshaft...but prevents him from feeling the touch of a human hand. These stories of Concrete are as rich and satisfying as any in comics:...

Chadwick's masterpiece

The 5th volume of Concrete collects the most critically acclaimed and well known storyline in the series, and it is author Paul Chadwick's favorite to boot! Concrete is dreading being alone, as his two closest companions, biologist Maureen Vonnegut and aide Larry Munro, are leaving on trips, then a strange offer comes up: an Earth First! group wants Concrete to accompany them and document their efforts as they sneak into an old growth forest scheduled for logging. Initially hesitant, Concrete agrees due to the fact he's not joining the radical enviromentalists, just acting as an observer, but when the battle gets increasingly tough and Concrete learnes more about just what's at stake he becomes more and more radicalized himself. Thought proking and entertaining at the same time, Think Like a Mountain is a comic masterpiece. Chadwick's drawing is as beautiful as ever, and even though this comic was originally published in color the current black and white printing is far superior. As with previous volumes there are several short stories collected as well, all of which continue the enviromental theme.

Another Great Collection

Paul is flawless in his execution of the thought-provoking life of Concrete. He weaves his tale and makes you always think about the life you lead. The best stories are the ones that stay with you and cause you to think time and again. This is no exception. =s=
