"Conan the Outlaw" by Roger E. Moore I find the entire concept of the "pick a path" book extremely intriguing. Written in the era of the Vic 20 & the TRS80, these books were a viable entertainment alternative at the time. Not unlike an AD & D scenario, the reader had several options to chose from to see how the story would unfold. Roger Moore's contribution to this short lived genre is one of its better examples. Mr. Moore's Conan is a "text book" larger than life character type that the reader can not only enjoy but can choose the path of his destiny. Not a bad deal for around a dollar. I first read this book over 20 years ago and recently re-read it after finding it in a used book shop. The book had lost nothing in the two decades since my first reading. It is still entertaining and fun. Additionally, it is also just a tad on the serious side of the Sword & Sorcery genre, and that's not a bad thing. Thanks Roger.
