This book is a great way to ease into some more advanced topics in mathematics. For instance, within the first chapter you start to study topology of the complex field (mappings of sets of points, bounded sets, domains, etc). Of course none of this can be done until you establish the complex number system in terms of R which we are familiar with, and defining the arithmetic options and such. The construction of the complex...

This book is useful for learning both the theorems and applications of complex functions. It is better organized and more up to date than other books I found in the library. The proofs and examples are complete and easy to understand and there are many well composed figures which help illustrate the concepts. I learned a lot about complex sequences and series and enjoyed the many practical examples like conformal mappings...

This is the finest book I have seen in complex analysis. The book that my class was using sucked so bad, I could not get anything from it. It was written in such an advanced manner, as if the student is studying his Phd in math. I thought I'm going to flunk the class, until i purchased this book! This book turned out to be a lifesaver for me. The author does a brilliant job in explaining complex analysis. Anyone who has never...

This book does a good job of introducing the student to the theory of complex analysis without overwhelming them with proofs. Alot of the excerises are calculator based and the examples are very detailed.

This is a very well written book on the subject of complex analysis. The text explains the concepts in enough detail that the reader has enough of a grasp to work the problems at the end of the section. The problems are challenging but not impossible. Overall this is an excellent book.
