Kyle Rote Jr. perhaps one the greatest USA soccer superstars in the 1970s gives a very thorough look at the world of soccer in this 1978 book. Written with Basil Kane it is easy to see that most of the writing came down to Kane with Rote providing some of his own personal memories. One thing that makes this book better now then when it first was written is because it has a nice synopsis of every North American Soccer League (NASL) season to the date of publication. So for the historical value this book is a must for the American soccer fan who appreciates the history of the game in the USA, when the NASL was top league in the land.
