There are just a lot of times where the classics never seem to die. That has been the case with game shows. Although the dynamic of quiz shows today doesn't actually have the appeal it did nearly twenty years ago or more, there are times where the classics just need to be showcased. Come On Down by Jefferson Graham, is a well-reflected book about what makes game shows tick throughout the eras, even going back to the 1950's with highlights like the quiz show scandal of Twenty-One, and behind the scenes of shows like the $100,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark, Jeopardy with Alex Trebek, and The Price Is Right with Bob Barker. Although it could've highlighted shows like Press Your Luck, and Name That Tune a little better, the book still brings out a window to what made game shows classic then, and a delightful memory today. This is a really fun book for anyone who loved game shows growing up or has come to love them on the Game Show Network. I bought it as a gift for my husband and he loved it! It gives lots of "behind the scenes" info and is an easy ready.
