This is an excellent compilation of songs from Newfoundland which is edited very thoughtfully. The book taps into the psyche of a wonderful land, Newfoundland, its traditions, people and its mystery. This is a truly wonderful book and I highly recommend it to anybody who is interested in Newfoundland or who would like to get to know a forgotten world where the mystery of our existence still lingers and taps into the core of our souls. A real - must purchase - if you would like to be taken a way to remote "bays" and "coves" of Newfoundland and vicariously get to know this wonderful and humane culture. I visited Newfoundland recently from Boston and read the book again during my visit.
