Book Overview

COMANCHE BORN... COMANCHE BOUND Nick Bluestone had made a solemn vow to wed his twin brother's widow, raising their child the Comanche way. The desirable Elaina would be his wife, but Nick could never forget the decision had been his brother's, not hers. Elaina had convinced herself marrying Nick had nothing to do with their mutual attraction. What she felt for Nick was more intense...and much more dangerous. DEFINITELY A 4 PLUS --

Comanche Vow is a tender love story with a certain amount of guilt thrown in. An emotion that would be very real to some people. There is a certain amount of sensitiveness to the hero, Nick Bluestone that does not detract from his masculinity. After waiting two years he approaches his sister-in-law with a proposal of marriage - following his vow to his twin brother at Grant's death. The Comanche way was explained as a way to preserve the family unit -- How many guys in this day and age would that kind of integrity? Elaina was, at first, a bit shocked and then slowly won over but she still wanted love without giving it. Nick's influence on her daughter was a winning factor plus great sex. As she and her daughter learned of the Comanche ways they slowly fell under the spell of love. Great story told with sensitive insight -- Wonderful characters - Definitely Recommended ---

Skillful Writing and Interesting Storyline

There are two reviews written on this that outline the story well and one review nails the book completely. Surfice to say, I would never have bought this book on the premise of a widow marrying her husband's brother. Especially since they were twins. My Puritan roots are exposed, I guess. However, good writing wins out every time. Ms. Whitefeather made the issues real and the resolutions believable. I immediately ordered two more of her books.

another Whitefeather winner!

Nick Bluestone is proud of his Comanche blood. However his twin brother does not embrace their Native American heritage as well. Then his brother is killed but he had asked a vow of Nick to take care of his wife & child....the Comanche way. Elaina & her adolescent daughter travel to Oklahoma to visit with her husband's brother. Her emotions are tender as Nick resembles his brother in looks but she clearly sees that he is very different as he lives & breathes his heritage unlike her husband had. So Elaina is surprised to learn about the request her husband had asked of his brother. That Nick be her husband & father to her daughter. This is another wonderful Native American story from Ms Whitefeather. Tender & touching! I adored the hero......he embraces his family as wholeheartedly as he does his heritage. And the ending was fantastic!!

Lively and intense -- Highly recommended

A carjacking resulted in Grant's shooting, and his final request. He requests that Nick make a wife exchange, a tradition in the Comanche old ways that would require Nick to care for his brother's wife and child in the event of his death. Nick has debated his responsibility to Elaina and Lexie for two years. But he fears Elaina's reaction if she ever learns of the mistake he made that cost his brother's life.An elementary teacher, Elaina helps other people's children even as she's at a loss as to help her own. Lexie has taken the death of her father hard, retreating from friends and exhibiting depression. Elaina agrees to this trip to visit her Uncle Nick hoping that visiting her father's brother will help Lexie. The last thing she expected was a proposal or to feel attracted to her husband's brother. Yet she can't resist the antics of the Comanche bad boy and the juvenile delinquent as they settle into a life together.Sheri Whitefather chooses a rather daring theme by marrying a woman to her deceased husband's brother. Certainly not incest, yet both having feelings of guilt that must be overcome. Yet the lure of the forbidden binds this couple in its passionate embrace as they begin to fall in love. Whitefeather's skillful manipulation of Comanche tradition and societal mores makes for a fascinating read. These rich characterizations and intense emotional experiences make COMANCH VOW highly recommended.
