Reviewers and Flower Lovers In Agreement Can't Be Wrong

I wholeheartedly agree that the BEST ever reference herein is tragically out of print. And it's not just any reference guide. Published in collaboration with The Royal Horticultural Society, it doesn't get any better than this. The book itself is a work of art with 2,048 color photo illustrations. When I needed to find out exactly what species of Lilac I had in my garden, this was the ONLY reference that gave me the correct information and how to care for it. A great buy and value in every possible way.
Sorry to see that this book apparently is not in print...

...because when a flower or plant absolutely stymies me, this is my first and best reference. The organization of photos (and the size and quality of the photos, themselves: six to a page in the paperback edition; these are not huge, but big enough to document the telling detail) together with brief, but sufficient alphabetical descriptions following the "color" dictionary invariably deliver enough information for me to seek out additional confirmation, if needed.Invariably? Yes, indeed. I am no plantswoman, but have gardened in two wildly disparate regions and have visited many different gardens in the northern hemisphere. I read fairly widely, both older books and newer publications, but this is the book without which I would not be able to garden or to appreciate gardens.
