I went to alanon for years and yet I was a Christian. In alanon the mention of Jesus was frowned upon but I knew that there was scriptural basis for this program but alanon seemed just not quite complete. Pat Springle brought the two together for me. He helped me to see where I was a codepentent Christian. How I was deceived about what being a Christian meant. What turning the other cheek really meant and what standing up and setting boundries for myself and others was all about. It helped me to understand myself and my family of origin a lot more. I recommend this book to all who struggle with trying to please others and never quite making the mark. I can't believe this book is out of print.
