An excellent non-fiction of the events at Baptist Hospital during Katrina by the doctor that was in charge. I could not put it down. His memoirs of the event was so well written you could visualize everything that was going on plus Dr. Deichman's personal feelings during this hellish time.. A courageous account of the doctors and nurses, the frustrations, heartaches and achievements plus how situations like these affect different people. A must read for those that want to understand a real part of Katrina plus a look at human nature under such circumstances. Thank you for telling it as it was, Dr. Deichman, you deserve a metal, at least, of some kind and if I still lived in New Orleans, I would certainly want a caring doctor like you to be my doctor. Bravo!
...and its actually fun to read!

I was surprised to find myself really enjoying this book, given the subject matter. More importantly, it covered the subject matter well. I also found it easier to retain ideas because of the novel style.
