Mystery of a Family Secret

Clue in the Ancient DisguiseBy: Carolyn KeeneReviewed by: S. BhuiyanPeriod 5This book is about a mystery Nancy Drew uncovers by working for Pierre Michaud, a young frenchman that is developing a new technology system for computers. Someone is trying to ruin his work and Nancy has to find out who and why. Nancy realizes the reason behind all the danger is that someone is trying to stop her from discovering the Duval family secret which relates to Pierre. Now Nancy is trying desperately to unravel the family secret and soon discovers that it could change Pierre's life forever! I liked this book because I thought the plot was magnificent. The author wrote a lot of details so that I could imagine the scenes playing along in my head. As I started to finish the book, the scenes became more interesting yet dangerous, and that is why I could not stop reading. Here is one of the quotes that I liked:"No, Nancy!" Bess begged. "Don't go out there! Let's just wait in here. Maybe it'll go away!" This quote is located on page 81. I liked this quote because it showed that Nancy was about to confront a burglar in an armor suit. Here is another quote: "To stop you from becoming the Count d' Auvergne. Am I right-Monsieur Vernet?" This quote is located on page 184. I liked this quote because it represented that Nancy had just solved the reason why someone was trying to hurt Pierre and stop Nancy's investigation. My favorite part of this book was when Nancy and Pierre figure out that the culprit was Varney and why he wanted to hurt Pierre. These scenes became dangerous and intense. I liked this part because I felt that the ending was wonderful and I was satisfied.

the most exciting Nancy Drew yet!!!

'Clue in the Ancient Disguise' is about a young french engineer(Pierre Michaud)who has uncovered a mystery surrounding an 18th century ancestor in a note found in his grandfather's papers. Of course Pierre asks Nancy to solve the mystery. But at the same time attemted burglaries have been made at the River Heights Arts Institute, although nothing is ever taken. Even though there are many attempts to get Nancy of the case she will never give up! I got mine in a used bookstore. It might be hard to find, but it's worth the chase!!
