A must have for Clamp fans

This omnibus edition by dark horse is beautifully done and definitely worth the money. Personally, I find Clover the epitome of Clamp's artwork. This collection is so beautiful to look at. As mentioned in the other reviews, yes the storyline is confusing, but gets better with more readings. There are some loopholes in the logic of the story, but as a whole the series is superb. The light and shadows are expertly utilized in this manga, and gives it a quality of a indie black and white movie. I consider this work to be a masterpiece of artistic expression. This book also contains many of the posters and coloured artworks printed on glossy pages throughout. Absolutely stunning, a must have.

Wonderfully intricate story, weaving fantasy and emotion

Well, i have read all the reviews by clover and some happen to not like it. I can understand why. The story leaves a lot to be desired and nothing is really fleshed out. Although the story line is like this, i immediately fell in love with "Clover". Ever since i read it, it is now my favorite clamp series. After reading this cover to cover in one sitting, it left something on me. Maybe an impression? Its a bit abstract but i love that about this book, it really lets you delve into your thoughts and emotions. When reading i was compelled to throw myself into a frenzy of so many thoughts. I also felt my heart in my throat so you can tell how tense i was feeling. Seeing as how many manga don't incorporate the type of feelings or mixed emotions you might get from "Clover" (I mean the way you feel not what the characters in the manga are feeling). This is a manga i can relate to. Overall its a gorgeous book with amazing art. No amount of words can really tell you how much i love it. Its abtract, different, unique. A dark fantasy which has a light feel to it. As if its saying "There is darkness but if you look hard enough, there is more to it than meets the eye". (Cheesy yes but its how i feel and i'm sure you've heard the line a thousand times, can you bear with a thousand and one?)

You can't miss it!

I gave myself this omnibus edition as a Christmas gift and I couldn't be happier. The book is really beautiful, even better than the Japanese edition. The coloured images are just stunning and they really did a good work on CLAMP's manga. It's really worth to have it =)

It's the complete thing!

Being an avid CLAMP collector, it drove me insane how the original Clover books were out of print and the ones sold online were so expensive. So when I saw this, I was hoping for only the black and white story at the very least. My expectations were exceeded. This has every color drawing that the original books had on glossy paper as well as a full gallery of other drawings of Clover that I hadn't even seen before. Thoroughly pleased with this purchase.

The Four Leaf Clover is Finally Found!

Clover is a series that I have been hoping to find, but had been out of print until last month thanks to Dark Horse! This book (which is one book with all the four books that belong to this series and over 500 pages) is done by the famous manga group Clamp. If you're a Clamp fan and have fell in love with Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits, Tsubasa, etc., this book is really different than their other works. It is much more serious and dark plus the artists chose to use a more minimalistic page layout (click the preview of this book and you'll see what I mean) to tell this story and create the needed dystopian atmosphere. There also isn't a lot of dialogue in this story; it's mainly a song repeated over and over as it relates to the events occuring. The characters develop through their actions and as their pasts are revealed in contrast to their dialogue revealing them like in other works. The pluses is that Dark Horse included a bonus colored gallery of pictures from this work that are absolutely beautiful and make the book worth it's cost (plus the fact that it's 500+ pages long.) The downside is that the story may be a little confusing a times because the order of the books are put (intentionally) out of place, so reviewing a few pages may be needed to understand a moment. If read "correctly" it could be read like this: Book 3, Book 4, Book 1, and then Book 2. All in all, I would recommend this book to all Clamp fans because it is another Clamp masterpiece and to all non-Clamp fans (or people unfamiliar to their work) because of the interesing choice of page layout.
