A cheery adventure from cover to cover

Class Three at Sea is a whimsical, rhyming children's picturebook following a class of children on a field trip aboard a boat. They enjoy the sights and befriend an octopus in need, and the octopus turns out to be their best ally when pirates take over the ship! With help from sea creatures, the pirates are overthrown, and the kids make the miraculous discovery of an island of treasure. A playful storybook that never takes itself too seriously, Class Three at Sea is a cheery adventure from cover to cover. Also sure to delight young readers is the previous picturebook in the series, "Class Two at the Zoo".

Stories for Children Magazine 5 Star Review

Reviewed by: Gayle Jacobson-Huset This is a follow-up book to CLASS TWO AT THE ZOO, which I haven't read yet. This is a delightful and fun -- albeit scary -- tale told in rhyme. Class Three At Sea has the teacher and her class board a tour boat so the kids can see and learn all about sea creatures. They don't notice the pirate ship behind them. The pirates board the tour boat and chaos ensues. One child is forced to walk the plank. One pirate holds several children upside down. Chief pirate Rotten Teeth forces tour boat captain Keith to sail directly to a small island. The teacher falls in love with one of the pirates! Can you guess what happens to Class Three, their teacher, and Captain Keith when they reach the small island? You'll just have to read this book to find out. I especially loved the very funny illustrations by Lynne Chapman. If I was 5, I'd be afraid of all the scary pirates and what happens to the children, but I also know that pirates are "in" these days and children are exposed to a lot more than I was at age 5 - you know, back in the dark ages! All in all, this is a fun book with lots going on in it. Your children will love it.
