Angel - City of

I really liked the book. The book is not hard to read even though if you don't speak english very well. It explains Angel's past to persons who are not familiar with him,and it also shows how he got where he is. It's actualy a lot alike to fist Angel episode but it has falshbacks from Angel's past. Angel and Buffy fans should definitly read it.

Thoughtful writing and precise characterization

This book provides a wonderful starting point for the exciting new Angel series. Holder keeps a firm grasp on Angel's past, interlocking memories with moments of the present. I have always enjoyed Holder's characterization of the Buffy/Angel relationship, and Holder does not disappoint. A definite must-have for any fans of the two series!

Better than the episode

While this book does contain the novelization of the first episode of Angel, it is far better. It explores Angel's past with vivid adventures from his bad days. It revisits the restoration of his soul. A must read even for fans who have followed the Buffy series from the beginning. I highly recommend this well told tale. Another excellent story by Nancy Holder

love to brood, love to read, love this book!

I thought that this book displayed a lot of Angel's history. Although it droned on at parts, on the whole it was an excellent choice. I thought that the character portrayal was amazing and for a book about a spin-off soap-opera it really cleared up quite a bit about the whole lose/gain soul puzzle. I tend to lean more towards the books dramatic history coverage as the best part of the book.

Good quick read for Buffy and Angel fans.

I love this book so much I've already read it twice. Basically it's a novelization of the first Angel episode, with some flashbacks from Buffy episodes and Angel's past as a vampire mixed in. I reccommend this book to all fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
