Tube worm fascination

I have been fascinated with the range of life on this planet since I first saw a pile up of horseshoe crabs on a beach on Long Island. Some time later I learned about tube worms who lived in the hot water vents on the ocean floor: non-carbon based life forms. I got this book for the pictures. The writing is enough of a tease to make me go elsewhere to learn more.
The binding is falling apart and the dust cover is ripped

This book was purchased for my grand daughter so this review is about the quality, not the content. If the binding of a book is falling apart it should not be resold unless it specifically discloses that fact. I am very disappointed with the rating of this book and the quality that showed up on my doorstep.

I was hoping this book would be as interesting and as full of high quality, fascinating photographs as I remember National Geographic magazine being from when I was a child. It just doesn't seem...great, and I don't think it's that I've grown old and cynical. Going to try again for a well-illustrated and informative book about marine life.
