Three's the charm!

These are the questions you want the answers to: Will Doll be found in time? How did Mia get away from the police, or did she? Is Niki a double agent or just out from himself? Will Kayla every get five hours of sleep without a house fire? Will the Phil take a hint and quit the Ops? Will Kayla finally get some lovin? This is the third book of Kayla Steele's situation that is now her life. Unlike the other books, this book is done in first person, which make sense because she is alone now. Kayla is dealing with her new werewolf problem and is trying to put it off like doing your taxes. However, all the weres pretty much know she was bitten (from the last book). Mutt cannot decide if he wants to betray Karel's memory by taking care of Kayla or staying away. All he ever does is make Kayla think of more ways of why she should punch him in the face and walk away. Mutt can be an overbearing jerk or the guy who never calls. I was not sure if I was going to continue with this series, but I'm glad I did. The secret military ops is out of this book which is a big plus. (Kayla snuck out of the secret underground compound in the last book and let the bad guys in after she left a soda can wedged in the door. Oops, it could happen to anyone.) I really like that the weres are fun wolves, and not constantly changing form and falling asleep like other books. The wolves also don't have the strigent rules and politics that are contantly harped on in other books. Cyan-X, the vampire responsible for Karel's dealth, along with seven other people, is back. Cyan and Kayla share a humorous, but scary bonding moment. The topic: What Cyan is doing wrong and why she can't keep her man. Try doing that and have Cyan not go into a fit of rage and kill the messenger, several times. Did I mention that Kayla has to find the angel Doll to save the world? By herself?
