Christmas in My Home and Heart

Though small, I will use this book this year as a reference to holiday decorations more than anything else. It was thoughtful and the book, both inside and outside, was well designed. I loved the cookie recipe. Good tips on how to deal with some of the stress that comes with the holiday season.

I thought this book by Robin McGraw was a very delightful and interesting book. I think that Robin McGraw is one of the nices ladies around.

This is a heartwarming book - just the kind of expressions I would expect from Robin McGraw. It made a beautiful Christmas present to my three granddaughters who are just starting their families.

This book is more like a "scrapbook". It is beautiful, both emotionally and physically. It has some gorgeous photos. The photos alone are enough to awe you. The book comes straight from the heart of the author. It shares Christmas memories, and gives suggestions of things to do now with your family, neighbors, and others. It gives party/entertaining ideas and even recipes. It even speaks of the hustle/bustle and warns you not to get stressed out. It gives some good advice. Most importantly of all, it tells about the true meaning of Christmas, which is from God. I love Christmas - not the gifts or the worldly aspect of it - but the true inner beauty of it, the memories, the love, the family-ness, and God. That's why I think this book is so beautiful. However, this book is not for everyone. Like I said earlier, it is "scrapbook" style. It is filled with lots of pictures. Not everyone would find interest in this type of book. It doesn't bother me, though, because I like photos/recipes/things other than just black & white words in print. I would recommend this book to doctors/dentists/and other offices who have a waiting area. It would be perfect for people sitting and waiting. Oh, don't get me wrong - it would be perfect for anyone, even if they are at home. But it is one of those types of books, where if you only read one section in the middle of the book, or only look at the photos, it's okay. (You can't do that with a novel - with a novel, you have to read the entire book from front to back in order to get anything out of it.)

What a beautifully done, well-photographed and illustrated book! The text is by Robin McGraw, AKA Dr. Phil's lovely wife. A wonderful reminder of why we celebrate Christmas, valuing family traditions, friends, decorating for the holidays and helping others. I enjoyed reading Robin's thoughts on Christmas and the holiday season, and her sharing of the personal family traditions the McGraws have. A thoroughly lovely book. The Dr. Phil critics will, of course, not like it. Readers will find this to be a lovely, sweet and endearing book.
