Chimeraworld #1

So alternate plains do exist. After years and years of pouring over mundane material, I've finally found something interesting. Thank my lucky stars for that. I was beginning to think every new anthology would be the same rehashed junk; the ghost story, the revenge story, argghhhh they're coming to get you and let's not forget, the crap poetry as boring filler. Rubbish! I enjoyed Chimeraworld cover to cover. Something different that held my attention and, received my admiration. I strongly suggest this book.

The story that got me reading this one is the one by Ken Goldman but there were other writers I saw in here that I would eventually work with myself later on. J.M. Heluk did a killer job with his entry in here and this was the start of the many in the series that Mike "Hertzan Chimera" Philbin will end up doing. It keeps you reading because it blurs the lines between horror, science fiction, mystery, and other forms of literature. It does cross a few lines as far as good taste goes but then again you have to understand were Mike Philbin comes from. He does a lot of stories that fall in the bizarro fiction catagory. I read some of the related anthologies that he was in and one of my anthologies can be related now because a few authors I work with trade off with him. I recommend this one but it's isn't for the faint of heart. Seeing what kind of writer Mike is when he was published with an e-zine that I also appeared on a year later, he's a hard writer to write stories for if you write traditional horror but if you write bizarro fiction then you will have a better chance of getting placed with him. Keep them coming Mike --this one I wish I had in print. My copy got lost when Cyber-Pulp stopped doing anthologies and deleted their e-books. Want see where Mike unleashes the hounds of hell in the realms of his genre blending sense of madness, this where it all begins. There is no heaven, there is no hell -- only Chimeraworld. This is the kind of anthology that will leave people freaked out many years after they've read the original series and people will keep coming back for the other installments.
