Read with a highlighter in your hand!

I loved this book! For those that are overwhelmed by the dos and donts of nutrition and healthy living, Aimee breaks it down and makes it very simple. She explains HOW and WHY foods affect or bodies and health for the good and bad. Addressing why organic?, how to identify harmful ingredients and the alias' companies use to slip these things in our food, sample menus and lots of helpfull hints and resources for products and info. Its a quick layman read jam pack with valuable, obtainable information. Highly recommend it, whether a beginner or a guru, there is something here for you.

Changed my life!

I devoured this book, every word, every morsel in 2 days and am smitten! I'm adopting all Aimee's expertise and am already noticing a difference. (I swear my face already looks glow-ier than before...). My breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks for the past 4 days have all been menus suggested in the book. I have had zero sugar and am shocked that I'm not pining for it. My belly and body feel happy, my mind is calm and I'm finding brown bananas in my toilet again as of last night!!! Yeehaw! I realize, now, that the missing link in my quest to be "whole" was this book... I need to nourish my mind, body and spirit with healthy food (even meat!) to make them all run smoothly. Aimee did an amazing job keeping me interested, explaining information with science I could understand and witty common sense that just can't be argued. If everyone adopted this proactive way of life, we would find ourselves and our neighbors much happier, healthier & cancer-free!

Great book, but Aimee should be herself

This is a great book with a lot of valuable information. It is structured really well, and definitely is not a chore to read. I do think some sections could have used some more explanation - for example, the parts about the dangers of soy still left me with a lot of questions (e.g., is it still okay to eat edamame? miso soup?). But, I've been a patient of Aimee's for years, and this book still taught me some things I didn't know. My boyfriend and I just threw out his Flaxseed granola yesterday because it contained soy protein isolate, unbeknownst to us! My main issue with the book, as others mentioned here, is the repetition of the incredibly annoying phrases like "Come on, girls!" and "Honey." I gave the book to a friend, and she had the same reaction - "Awesome book, but the writer should stop with those annoying phrases." Since I know Aimee does not speak this way in normal life, I am guessing that someone told her to write this way, and it's a shame. In my opinion, it really takes away from otherwise great information with studies to back it up. The book is written in such an approachable, easy to understand way, that it truly does not need these extra "Girls" and "Honey" openers. Regardless, I highly recommend this book to anyone. It's especially important for females going through any kind of health issue, but there is also GREAT information for regular women and men.

Just what the DR ordered!!

amazing, insightful book about the journey of getting healthy! there are no hard sells--promising you overnight miracles or weight loss secrets. its a truthful break down of everything a woman needs to know about getting healthy and how to do it safely. from diet, stress, inner beauty, food (specifically the importance of eating organic & dangers of soy) and more, you can actually understand what the author is suggesting without feeling intimidated or thrown head first into a medical frenzy. she also goes into specifics about how your body should function---everything from PMS to what color urine should be to how regular your daily "waste functions" are. i dont think many woman understand healthy body mechanics -- and neither did i-- until i read this book! def worth getting-- it will be a fast read and you will be convincing ever friend to get on the wellness wagon with you!

Have almost all my Christmas shopping done!

I'll be giving this book to my daughter, mother, sisters, nieces, friends..... This book contains a wealth of timeless and timely health wisdom and information presented in a clear, straightforward and entertaining manner, making it highly user friendly and totally accessible. Aimee kicks ass with this first effort - hopefully the first of many books from this young, wise woman! While this is definitely geared towards us women, men can certainly benefit from reading "Chill Out and Get Healthy" too. I think I'll leave a copy in the bathroom.....
