You'll Enjoy Life a Lot More on the Day You Read a Bernard Taylor Novel!

Bernard Taylor's unique idea in Charmed Life takes the reader to the secret agent type world that relates to fate and the afterlife. These agents whose journey's we follow emulate a cold war spy thriller. They either want their subject to follow his destiny or stop him from fulfilling it, at all costs including their own lives. Agents are confused as to why a certain American, Guy Holman on numerous occasions just won't follow his destiny and die. It is almost as if he somehow knows to alter the seconds before an incident that should take his life such as stepping half a metre to the left of where fate has him head butting a truck, so instead of dieing, just goes into a coma for a few days. Of course Guy has no idea he is destined to die each time and certainly does not see himself as lucky. Both his sons and his wife have all recently passed away and he never even saw his wife who had left him and returned to England before she died. He only heard she was sick just before encountering the truck and learnt of her death when he awoke from the coma. It is when he decides he needs closure and to visit her grave that he discovers she is not buried where he thought she would be and when he tries to track down the truth learns just how evil a woman can be. Taylor has not achieved ranking wise as high on the horror/supernatural and thriller authors list that his quality of writing really puts him, especially outside of England. Whilst Charmed Life is a great read, to really know Taylor's brilliance you have to check out his masterpiece Mother's Boys.
