Caravan of No Despair helped me more than any oher book I have read during my grief journey.

Autobiographical, this story is woven around and through the coming of age, of Mirabai Starr. Her childhood is not the usual white picket fence story. Her parents are vagabonds of a sort. I deplore the word Hippie and prefer free spirit. It is not all singing and dancing and play. Her struggles are our struggles. I came to know her as a friend through this book of her life, divorce of her parents, loss of her child and finding peace in the end. It is a spiritual journey of learniong, loving, losing, forgiveness and completion.
