I actually liked it

I beg to differ to some of the comments that have been made about this book, I definitely agree to the fact that some of the characters were a bit to the extreme, with all the abuses Tina went through, Philip should definitely do time, but it is a romantic novel written in the 70s to prove male dominance, which is slowly deteriorating in our society as a result of women liberation and women wanting to act or take the position of men, i hate all JL books where the women were defiant and were bellicose, because sometimes we need the men in charge.I would definitely recommend this book to all my friends who are romance fricks

GREAT

I must say that I loved this book. Some readers have been dissapointed with the book given all the beatings Christina went through and the fact that the man she fell in love with kidnapped her in the first place. I thought the book was very well written, and didn't mind Philip's harshness. It was down right sexy. He was a strong man who knew what he wanted. Quite a nice change from the manicured men in todays society. Philip fell in love with Christina desite her defiance, and she in love with him, despite the fact that he kidnapped her. I don't think its too far a stretch either, her loving him after he forced her body to need him with his hands, because once she let him in, she felt the pleasure and safety being wrapped up in his arms. I would reccomend this book to any hopeless romantic. I can't say enough. I wish the book would have never ended. I am dissapointed that I finished it so quickly.

Remember the context

Readers accustomed to today's romance standards may be quick to judge this book harshly. I urge readers to remember this book's place in the history of romance. It is not a new release. It's a classic from Lindsey's early years, the years of the bodice ripper, and if you can't handle that, don't read it. It's a portrait of popular fiction of another era, one that I loved back then, and still look back at fondly.

Incredible!!

I simply love Johanna's daring and style of writing. I love this book and how Johanna was able to differ from the "norm". Maybe I'm just spoiled by her wonderful writing but no one has been able to create characters and stories with such vigor and gusto as to totally sweep you away! My hats off to you Johanna for yet another splendid job!
