Book Overview

It was Wizard's book of the year for 2005; now, fan-favorite artist Steve Epting rejoins Top Ten writer Ed Brubaker for an action-packed thriller in London, as Captain America travels across the Atlantic in search of his old partner - a story that will see him fighting side-by-side with some very old friends. But Cap and the Winter Soldier aren't the only ones taking the journey abroad. Crossbones and Sin are on a path of revenge that's leading them...

Cap's London adventure is a fast but fantastic read!

Cap teams up with Spitfire and Union Jack in London and I loved it. Seeing Cap deal with older era heroes is awesome. Also, although it seems the Skull has been done to death (literally) Brubaker is still able to make him menacing and a serious threat. Epting's art is how see Captain America in my head. Classic looking stuff. Loved it!

I dig it!

I really enjoyed this TPB of Captain America. It was really fun to see him in London battling Nazi leftovers and working with the Brits. The change of continents was nice and was fun adventure.

Moving into Civil War

Right before Civil War breaks out, Cap is in England investigating more. This story hints and moves well into Civil War and the induction of the Superhuman Registration Act. Another good read.

Another great part of a stellar run

The writer/artist team of Brubaker and Epting continues to deliver with the four-issue arc collected in this book, "Twenty-First Century Blitz." I wasn't too pleased with the preceeding few issues, but they really picked it back up with this one. Cap heads to London to hunt down Lukin and the Winter Solider, getting help from some old friends. Between the super-Nazis on a blimp and the reunion we've all been waiting for, this comic has a very "good-old-times" Cap feel to it. Brubaker really shows some of his pulp influence here. Epting, who has really grown into this book throughout its publication, is putting out some of his best stuff here. Nothin' but home runs as far as art is concerned. If you've been keeping up, some of the setup in "Collision Courses" starts coming into play here. Winter Soldier fans -- don't pass this up! You'd be missing what is to be the last team-up of Marvel's dynamic duo (for now, at least). Brubaker and Epting's whole run has been spectacular, and this installment, while not the best of the run, is a strong arc worth reading. My only caution is this: if you haven't read the previous issues, you might miss a few things.

Great Book

This is a fantastic lead into civil war and ultimately the cap's death. a must have if you are a fan.
