This was a very nice anthology. Being the Janice Sims fan that I am, I enjoyed her installment the most. Ms. Sims' Love Supreme is beautifully written and it features an adorable couple - Jared and Alexandra. When the two of them explore their feelings for each other, it's obvious that they'll soon be strutting down the aisle of Red Oaks Church. Obvious to everyone except the two of them that is. But with a strong supportive cast of characters pulling for them and the ever-present Mother Maybelle putting her two cents in, these two find blessed love. Great job Ms. Sims!
Not a Religious Book

I think the book is great. I could not put it down. I read the entire book in two evenings. I thought the first story was the best, A Love Supreme. However, all four stories were quite enjoyable. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great romance novel.
A Great Romance Novel

I found this book to be an enjoyable read, for it's four stories were all good and varying, yet they adhered to continuity of venue (Red Oaks Fellowship Church), and of a character,(the omni-present Mother Maybelle, the resident advisor/fixer upper), that this reader looked forward to each activity at the various venues (relative to Reds Oaks) with anxious anticipation as to what was to transpire next with each authors' characters. The author's stories are to lauded, for the tales of romance are of good literary quality. Also, reinforced is the fact that people, no matter the environment, or their positions in society, will and do have thoughts and desires that are normal and simply human in nature. I particularly enjoyed "Love Under New Manangement", by Nathasha Brooks-Harris. This novella (which was preceded by her previous writing, "Panache") is a continuation of excellent writing by Ms. Brooks-Harris.The descriptive storytelling in this work was so full of realism and vividness that this reader envisioned himself in place of Norman Grant, the love interest of Valerie Freeman, the beautiful and gifted siren of this wonderfully written tale. May this reader suggest that Ms. Brooks-Harris keep on keeping on, for her readers long for more of her excellent literary brillance.
Don't Believe the HYPE....of the reviewers

I am a lover of good romance as well as many other genres. I am familiar with the work of all four authors, as well, I am familiar with BET's Arabesque line... I knew without asking that this was not Christian fiction and I'm sorry others could not ascertain the same. Regardless, I think it is unfair to judge the caliber of work by your misunderstanding of it being Christian lit...something BET does under another line. These are solid stories by well known authors and I enjoyed each one. Also, to say these type of romances are not occurring within the church community is unrealistic. If you're going to post, please be cautious in the words you use--as Christians I am sure you've been taught this just as I have. True, you can speak your opinion but a few of these reviews are more about condemning the fact that it is not Christian fiction than actually giving an opinion on the stories. You know, writing style, realism, fast moving pacing, sensual love scenes, great characterization, etc. I found all of those things and more in each story. Now of course, if you didn't enjoy anything about it voice your opinion, but please focus on what you actually read over posting on your misunderstanding of what it was supposed to be. To the authors: Good work, ladies.
A joy to read

I really loved the Janice Sims story, as well as the Kim Louise. They both captured the atmosphere of a small town church as well as the charm of a new romance. Bothe Ms Sims ad Ms Louise continue to grow as writers. They are always a delight to read. The third story by Ms Dunbar was also pleasant. The fourth story doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the anthology, but it didn't touch the heart the way the first two did.
