Foxtrot Mania

This book was the first Foxtrot book I ever got, the second was "Beyond A Doubt", and Jason and Marcus in this one are your typical geeky guys who think girls have cooties. At a sleep-away camp they go to for the summer there are 2 girls who do there best to out-do them in every way. This, of course, leads to hilarious situations. Anyone pondering the thought of buying a Foxtrot book. This one is the way to go. Of course, they're all great!

I LOVE IT!

I never really read foxtrot before, and my parents got it for me on my 13th Birthday. I did'nt know why got it for me, because I never talked about liking it. But I read it, AND I LOVE IT! It is now one of my faverite comic stips EVER! This Book is great, it is extremely funny. This book is two foxtrot books in one. It includes foxtrot books "Come Closer Roger There's a Mosquito on Your Nose", and "Welcome to Jasorassic Park". I think it is great. You should definetly buy it.

The best

Foxtrot being one of the funniest syndicated comics available today (this might be arguable for some, depending on your standard for humor), you'll definitely want this comic book. It is chock full of 250 pages of the popular strip by Bill Amend, and, with very few exceptions, you'll laugh at every strip. The actual "camp" doesn't happen until somewhere near the middle of the book, where brainy Jason and his friend Marcus go to Geek Camp for the summer, just to let you know, but you won't mind, I promise. There is a delightful little bonus kindly provided by the author at the end ("My publisher tells me I have six blank pages to fill") which documents the path that Amend started down in order to become the success he is today. Amend takes six pages to discuss how he creates the strips (does he draw them, or think up the plotline first?) and how he submits and is hired out to do them regularly (so what exactly is the running salary for a cartoonist these days anyway?) with tips on how a person with talent can attempt to do the same. I get genuinely concerned when/if I don't understand the humor in a Foxtrot comic, or if I fail to smile or laugh. That's how good this comic strip is. Yes, there are reused jokes...but to anyone who might complain about them, you have to remember that SOMETHING kept them reading long enough to notice reused jokes!

Amend never disappoints...

And you are assured to enjoy this collection as well. All three kids as well as the parents are given equal attention and "strip space" in this book.

Great Read

Though most comics today use the same joke over and over, which wasnt a very good joke in the first place, FoxTrot strays away from the heard. With witty jokes and great story lines, this is probably the best comic strip running today. And, unlike many strips, it has emotion in the characters which adds another dimension to it. This book just adds to the collection of great books for a great comic strip.Highly Recommended.
