Proper Do's and Don'ts

Very good book for the novice who wants to know the do's and don'ts in restoring a camaro. Generalized information that is not a procedural guide on how to make big mechanical repairs. Full of simple information. No enough technical information for the seasoned mechanic.

The best book out there for restoring a 67-69 Camaro

This is by far one of the best, if not the best reference guide for restoring a 1967, 68 or 69 Camaro. Production codes, trim codes, RPO codes as well as complete original assembly manual guides an illustrations are included. If you're looking for the best reference to restore that classic Camaro to factory correct specs... this is it!

Excellent guide for disassembly, repair, and reassembly.

The Camaro Restoration Handbook is a very useful reference for the "real world" aspects of Camaro restoration. It discusses specific procedures for removal, repair, and replacement of virtually every major part of the body of the car in detail, including a lot of useful tips one wouldn't find in a service manual. It is a little skimpy on engine info, for which I suggest the Haynes Chevrolet Engine Overhaul Manual (cheap) and the official Chevrolet service manual for your car (expensive). Also, this book is not very useful for identifying parts in a full restoration; look to Jason Scott's "Camaro Restoration Guide" for 1967-69 models.Overall, it is an excellent source of information on the manual labor side of Camaro restoration.

Great technical content and heaps of original assembly aids.

Camaro Restoration Guide : 1967- 1969 is a knowledgeable book on pretty much every hassle you're likely to encounter whilst undertaking your own restoration of this classic car. The book is broken into chapters which focus on each "group" of sub assemblies that a keen restorer will tackle, like body, engine, interior, sub chassis, electical system, etc. There are plenty of black and white photographs, and reproductions of original GM assembly line instructions and diagrams, which help you picture how the vehicle fits together properly. There are tips on how to go about the restoration, and what parts to tackle first. There is an excellent chapter on decoding the trim tags used on these vehicles, which is important in order to validate the identity of the vehicle in question.Overall, an excellent technical resource on the first generation Chevrolet Camaro, and I'm sure my copy will finish up extremely dog eared and liberally covered in greasy fingerprints before my own RS Camaro gets back on the road!
