Great book.

I loved the book. Had to deal with kids and house besides saving the world.

Good fast and funny read!

When I bought this book I thought I was buying the first in the series (it isn't). I really like to read things in the order they were written, bt it turned out well as the author provided enough background on the characters that I didn't feel as if I were missing something and was able to keep up with the story with no problem. I really enoyed the humor and found myself laughing out loud on several occassions. As described, it's what Buffy would be like if she grew up, married, had kids and became a soccer mom!

Leavin' me hangin!

Another Kenner demon novel started & finished in a day. Once again, couldn't put it down. I'm waiting for #3 to arrive in the mail any day now, & you can bet that will be devoured in one day, too....leaving me painfully waiting for the 4th....hurry, Julie!!!! :-)

Great Book!

Julie Kenner's style of writing is easy to follow. This is an excellent book especially for moms who wish they had a little more excitement in their lives. I recommend Carpe Demon, which is the first in this series.

delightfully amusing adventure fantasy

Kate Connor and her late husband Eric retired from demon hunting fifteen years ago to raise a family. Years after Eric passed away, single mom Kate and her teenage daughter Allie find love and marriage with attorney Stuart Connor. Terrible Timmy is the newest member of the happy family. However, though she believes in honesty in relationships, Kate hides from her family her past as a demon hunter, but recently her skills were tested by demons (see CARPE DEMON: ADVENTURES OF A DEMON-HUNTING SOCCER MOM) forcing her out of retirement. Kate and her neighbor Laura, the only human outside of the Vatican who knows her vocation, believe that the demons are on the verge of attacking the high school and her daughter Allie seems the center of the mess. She also has reconsidered the death of Eric, which she now wonders if it was murder and ponders why the new teacher David Long looks familiar; is it mistaken identity, or someone from her demon fighting days seeking to out her at a time when she prepares for immortal combat? The second demon hunting fantasy once again combines the dangers of PTA shark infested waters with battling Hell's denizen; Kate knows which is more dangerous. The story line combines plenty of action with humor as Kate battles family responsibilities between killing demons. Julie Kenner is at her irrelevant best with this delightfully amusing adventure sequel. Harriet Klausner
