"By George" is a collection of humourous articles by George S. Kaufman, most written for the magazines of the day including Time and the New Yorker. It also includes the entire script for the stage version of "Cocoanuts" with the Marx Brothers and a short skit entitled, "If Men Played Cards as Women Do." It does not contain any of the great plays he wrote with Moss Hart, Marc Connelly or Edna Ferber, but that's the point. For someone seeking further insight into the mind of one of the funniest humans ever, this is a real treat.
