Buried Treasures: A Storyteller's Journey

"Buried Treasures" is alternately funny, suspenseful, poignant - and always engrossing. Joel ben Izzy is a great storyteller. He draws you into his stories immediately and makes even the most preposterous tale seem real. His timing is terrific. This is my favorite of our 3 recordings by ben Izzy. The whole CD is very loosely related to his relationship with, and maturing understanding of, his father. While it can certainly be enjoyed by older kids (7+), it will resonate with, and stay in the hearts of, adults far more than most of his recordings.

Joel Ben Izzy reads his stories on this CD. The stories are nicely told, and tied together with personal stories of the author's father. Many of Ben Izzy's books are on tape, and I think it's even better that the author himself is telling the stories. You may walk around yourself singing 'Ida Ida', as we do! Enjoy!
