Bill Inmon is widely known as the father of the data warehouse. He generated the concept of the data warehouse and then refined it by developing the concept of the operational data store (a dynamic architectural construct designed specifically for high-speed, integrated operational processing) and corporate information factory. These ideas were outlined in the first edition of this ground breaking title which appeard in 1995.
