This is another crossover book, like "Parrots of Telegraph Hill" and "Red Wings in Love", that will appeal to everyone, not just bird lovers. Beautifully written, filled with wonderful bird and nature anecdotes, all shining through the lovely intelligence of the author's graceful voice. This is one of those books that becomes a journey, transporting you to another place with the author your gentle ever-present guide, making it all happen, yet remaining completely unobtrusive. The writing just flows. I recommend it strongly. And, there's more; the physical volume itself is a little jewel. If the writing were mediocre, you would still want to own this book just because it is exquisite. Buy this book. Give it as gifts. It is satisfying on so many levels.
