This Book Is Great!!!!

I have read this book three times, given it to new believers, and used it in Bible studies as well. This guide is perfect for any level of believer! It provides examples for everyday life, encourages readers to think of God in modern terms, and re-emphasizes basic truths for more mature believers. I love this series and look forward to more books covering topics such as Prayer, Worship, God's promises, etc. I'd also like to see more books for teens on dating, relationships, etc. Bruce and Stan have done a great job at portraying the real-ness of God!!!

Great for Christians of all types (especially new ones)

This book takes a wonderful approach of explaining God beyond the bounds of denomination. Being a newer Christian, I often got confused on what God does and doesn't do, when is the rapture, etc. This book breaks each topic down and explains the different views on each topic and why different denominations have these views. It was extremely helpful! Definetly recommended for anyone who is new to Christianity and trying to figure out which denomination they believe! Also has very handy Bible references to supplement the reading and see where the authors are coming from

Relax people...

Enough about the title! This is an outstanding book with a straight forward and, dare I say it, "user friendly" format. Unbutton your top button on your shirt and just focus on what God had them do. For all we know He ordained the title. Folks, this is a great book to explain those little things we have a hard time talking about and reminding ourselves about why we follow Christ. Get past the subtitle and into the book. Also, use it with a Bible... :o)

Excellent content, bad choice of subtitle

I have to agree with the other reviews shown here. I am using the book with my adult Sunday School class and we have all learned a lot. The topics are well documented biblically and ordered well. I do have the same problem as one of the other reviewers, however, with the subtitle "A User-Friendly Approach". While this subtitle may be appropriate for their "Guide to the Bible", we do not 'use' God (quite the opposite, actually). It may seem picky to some, but I think there is the possibility that it could turn some potential readers away, and that would be a shame. This is an excellent book for people new to their faith or those that need a refresher. I whole-heartedly recommend it.

Well-written study guide or reference source

Bruce & Stan have done a great job. Using the "Idiot's Guide to..." scheme, they have created a great summary of the Christian faith and its basic doctrines. I have used this book for teaching high school guys, but it would be great for any seeker or disciple who wants a good study of the foudations of the faith. This book provides good Scriptural basis for the statements made, defines "churchy" and theological terms for easy understanding, and provides listings of other great resources for deeper reading at the end of each chapter. I am very impressed with this book and plan on using it to lead basic doctrine and seeker studies for years to come. It takes the least common denominators of Christianity, boldly standing for the faith that is expressed specifically in Scripture, provides the basics of the different sides of debatable topics, and leaves further discovery to the reader. Great for interdenominational studies, for sure. I would recommend it to anyone who is curious about Christianity or who had know Christ for years.
