Seventeen-year-old Leigh Mason is not sure she's ready to share her mom, her bedroom, and her little sisters with her new stepsister, Betsy. And she's definatley not ready to share her best friend,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I am not a teenager but I really enjoyed this book. It didn't take long to read (you keep wanting to read just one more chapter) and it is a book I could go back and read over a few months later. You can really sympathize with Leigh when a beautiful stop sister comes into her life and shares her everything (especially her best friend). I found myself reading with tears rolling down my face in certain parts. I sort of hated when it was over and wished there was more. What a fun and feel good read. I do hope Becca will write more books. She's great.
Funny and Real!

This is so well done--a great story that feels real. Protagonist Leigh is funny and likable AND flawed. Her new stepsister Betsy is annoyingly perfect. The love triangle that develops between the characters only adds to the already present (because-our-family-is-blending) tension at home. Wilhite gives readers an authentic glimpse into a few different difficult situations. It is a beautiful story about pulling things together after loss. It's moving and heartwarming (without cheese), devastating and laugh-out-loud funny. I highly recommend it.
Learning to look outward!

While aimed at young girls, this book has broader appeal. The story's about the emotions of a pair of teenage girls who become sisters when the widowed mom of one marries the divorced father of the other. "How do we become a blended family?" The book is really about human emotions and looking beyond yourself in dealing with the challenges life thows at you.

I couldn't put it down! It was such a fun read. The thing that absolutely captured me was the sentence phrasing and imagery. They just held me there and I was unable to put the book down. Each sentence brought pictures and thoughts to my mind. I could easily picture the scene, places and scenerio. I loved it!!!! The story was so well connected and brought back many family memories. It was very thought provoking, too. A lot of soul searching goes on! I highly recommend this book!!!

If you're looking for a book for your teenager (that you will eventually sneak off and read yourself), GET THIS ONE. It's funny, it's charming, and it's the perfect amount of romance mixed with real life challenges. I'd recommend this to any girl, any day.
