4 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies

Continuing her highly successful and well written HIGH RISK series with her latest release, JoAnn Ross treats readers to a suspenseful story with BREAKPOINT. Dallas O'Halloran is teamed with Jag hotshot Julianne Decatur and the results are surprising, to say the least. Dallas O'Halloran is loyal to his country and his team. After barely escaping a court martial, Dallas is asked to join a new unit - with a new partner. His reputation as a lady's man precedes him, but nothing is more surprising than his new cohort - Jag lawyer Julianne Decatur; the woman responsible for trying to court-martial him months before. If Dallas is irritated by this partnership, it's nothing compared to what Julianne feels. Their feelings for each other aside, both Dallas and Julianne have a job to do and that is to investigate the suicide of a Navy pilot not knowing that there is more to this assignment than what meets the eye. The attraction between these two sizzle, and although Julianne's tough and no nonsense attitude and work ethic is somewhat different than Dallas', they both want the same thing - the truth. However, there is something more sinister afoot, and its sights are now on Dallas and Julianne. JoAnn Ross has a way of making the words in her books jump right off of the pages and completely immersing her audience in the story. With chill raising, eye opening, and suspenseful scenes to smoldering hot looks and combustible sexual chemistry, I found myself captured by BREAKPOINT to the point that nothing was going to keep me from reading this action packed book cover to cover. Dallas is known for his playboy ways around women, and I really enjoyed watching him stutter somewhat with Julianne. He is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it and seeing him unable to rattle his new partner seemed almost comical. I enjoyed their interactions - the longing and sexual compatibility of these two likeable characters is undeniable. They just `clicked,' and I think that is why BREAKPOINT works. With nail biting suspense mixed with danger and wild passion, BREAKPOINT delivers. The storyline works, the characters are emotionally in tune with each other, and the bad guys have no hope of winning. I couldn't have asked for anything more! Natalie S.

Hooyah

Excellent. This is an author to watch. The best book in the series to date with all the military abbreviations and lots of information and background about the navy, army and marines. Close to Suzanne Brockmann's style with the back and forth between the two smokin hot main characters and the others. Kept me guessing as to the final outcome and I think that it ended too soon and maybe tied up a little abrupt, but that is what happens with a good book, you want it to continue. Well worth purchasing and Signet should treat this author much better and have it available in Kindle when they release it. You can see it climbing up the charts already. This is a keeper and I will buy the audible also.

Breakpoint will keep you on your toes

JoAnn Ross continues her pulse pounding High Risk series with Breakpoint. Tech Sergeant Dallas O'Halloran is loyal do his family and friends. He gets assigned to a new unit and is paired up with the one woman who tried to send his teammates to prison. For former JAG officer Julianne Decatur her life is strictly black and white with no gray areas on what is right and wrong. She isn't too happy either to be paired with Dallas O'Halloran but she is a professional and can per her feelings aside for the investigation. Dallas and Julianne are assigned to investigate a possible suicide aboard a naval carrier. Once aboard things are not what they seem. The suicide turns out to be murder and someone is willing to silence anyone that gets in their way. As they investigate the murder their attraction to each other takes them both by surprise. But can their love survive is someone is out to kill them and those that they love? JoAnn Ross's High Risk series will keep you enthralled from the very first page. This is a fast paced, delightful sexy story. The military part is intriguing and will keep you guessing who all is involved. The chemistry between Julianne and Dallas will knock your socks off. I am anxiously looking forward to this authors next book.

action-packed thriller

They were adversaries in a military courtroom years ago. However, now former JAG officer Julianne Decatur and ex-Air Force combat controller Dallas O'Halloran work for the government's top secret THOR group. Although on the same side, there remains a bit of antagonism due to her efforts to court-martial some of his brothers in arms. Yet they are also attracted to one another. They have been assigned to investigate the apparent suicide of a Navy pilot. The pair quickly finds contrary proof affirmed by two other suspicious deaths. Julianne and Dallas begin to wonder if a serial killer or a conspiracy to conceal something is leading to military murders. At the same time each understands the irony of them falling in love with one another as not so long ago they were natural enemies. The newest High Risk romantic suspense (see SHATTERED and FREE FALL) is an action-packed thriller that never decelerates until the finish. The lead couple makes the tale work. Their changing relationship from antagonists (in a military courtroom) to teammates to lovers provides a deep character driven entry to one of the better high octane sagas on the market today.
