Southern writer Elizabeth Dewberry Vaughn is gifted and original. Her main character, twenty-three year old Sylvia Grace Mullins, has buried her past. Her young life was full of loss. She married an older man looking for safety. Now she is atracted to a country-western singer, Jake. As she confides in him, her past resurfaces more and more. Sexually abused by a family member, she must finally deal with these acts. Can she forgive? This a a very well-written and interesting story that I feel comfortable recommending.
