"Born Free" by Steve Brown is a great title for the person who struggles with wanting to be the person that Christ frees us up to be. Christians, myself included, struggle from time to time with internal and external factors which threaten to keep us in the spiritual prison that Christ wants to free us from. Among the points covered include: 1. Every time you stand up to the devil, all the powers of God's angelic hosts come to your aid. You have great power as a child of God. 2. God is in charge, which means we are not (thank goodness!). We don't need that kind of pressure anyway. 3. God's grace is far bigger than we can imagine. 4. God is always the same and you can count on Him. 5. Using the acrostic SILENCE to describe the concept of freeing prayer. 6. 16 principles that can help us be free. One of which is that we need to be responsible for our lives. 7. 7 steps to freedom. One of which is to acknowledge your pain. 8. God's Law (Bible) is His practical way of teaching and guiding us. A great read for the person who wants to be free in Christ. Read, be encouraged and challenged, and be the person that God wants you to be! Stop listening to those self-defeating thoughts that can come from within our own flesh and the devil and start listening to what God says about you!
Radical Grace

This is Steve Brown as his best. I would consider this a "Theological Work," but this is certainly a page turner! It is not heavy and difficult. Steve communicates very clearly the Biblical concept of the Grace of God. This book helped me to see that I don't need to live in bondage to my sin, and I don't need to feel guilty anymore. This is one of the greatest books I have ever read, and if you can get your hands on it, READ IT!
