I expected to see lists of the same piseoga you can find on Duchas.ie but I was blown away. This book contains hundreds of curses both in English and as Gaeilge, with historical and etymological context, and a heavy insistence on the importance of an oppressed people having the tools to curse those that would harm them when they lack any other way to fight back. Phenomenal book.

This excellent work by Dr. Power presents the factual information to the reader in a clear, clever and consise manner with the wit of the Irish. It allows one to realise that cursing is not for the faint hearted and not either to be taken lightly ! I will keep this book by my side at all times to read whenever the urge takes me which at the moment, is often !
