Sequel to Boo

I bought this book, because I had read the first book Boo. It's a good book for young adults and adults. It is Christian based, but it's not in-your-face religious. I really liked Boo, but this one seemed to be a slow-moving book. It took more focus for me to get through.

Hysterical laugh out loud Christian fiction with a touch of farce

Boo Who by Rene Gutteridge is the second book in the Boo series based in Skary, Indiana. Wolfe Boone has given up his lucrative writing career to sell used cars, and his fiancée Ainsley is embarking upon a new career herself. In the meantime, the town is trying to recover financially and emotionally from the loss of its tourism and find its new heart. This book is such a hoot (sorry couldn't help myself, once you read the book, you'll understand)! I was trying to explain the plot to my husband last night, and he found himself laughing out loud at the antics of the citizens of Skary. . There are so many subplots in this book, it's impossible to list them all, but Gutteridge handles them with flair. She does a terrific job of poking fun at the residents of a small town while still treating them with respect and love. She also does a wonderful job of bringing the Lord and how He works into the story without proselytizing. Nearly everyone in the book goes through a crisis of figuring out who they are and where they fit into God's plan with the message being that we all fit, no matter who we are. Skary finds its new heart and the reader sees that all things are made new

Welcome to Skary!

Rene Gutteridge is a - pardon the pun - a hoot! She writes a great story and liberally sprinkles it with funny moments and charming characters. This is a warm Fall read. Grab a mug of warm cider, put enough logs on the fire and dive in to the world and zaniness of Skary, Indiana. You will want to come back and visit often. Enjoy!

Even Funnier Than Boo!

Rene Gutteridge has an amazing way of combining humour, real (even if odd) people, a moral message and God all into one book. I couldn't put it down nor could I stop laughing. I just hope she continues writing about the people of Skary.

4 1/2 Stars...The Munsters Move to Mayberry

When I heard that "Boo" had a sequel, I laughed out loud. I couldn't wait to read more about the quirky town of Skary, Indiana. Once again, Gutteridge throws us into a quaint and strange little place, full of quaint and strange little people. Ainsley Parker and Wolfe Boone are looking forward to their upcoming nuptials; a mysterious doctor has arrived in town; owls and cats and clone-like figures are prowling the darkness; and overweight Melb is trying to prepare herself for life with Oliver. The characters are memorable, sympathetic, and humorous. It's as though the Munsters moved into Mayberry. At times, the story will have you laughing; other times, it'll glue you to your seat. The true triumph of "Boo Who" is that it doesn't feel like a forced sequel, produced for sales quotes. It has an engaging plot that leads naturally from the first book, while still standing on its own two legs. It deals with the identity crises of a town and it's inhabitants. And it leaves room for another in the series--with a rumored title of "Boo Hiss." I'll be adding it to my wish list.

great sequel

I loved the first book, Book, and this sequel delivers. I hope there is a third installment in the works. Gutteridge knows how to breathe charm and life into her characters.
