Imagine yourself in Bogota, Columbia. You take on the body and mind of a judge that deals with some of the worst criminals around, drug dealers. You have to walk around with bodyguards because there are so many people seeking revenge for your past court rulings. You have finished your day, and after locking up your office you walk out to your car with your bodyguards, one of whom seems new. Your hand is on the car handle when you turn around to face the new bodyguard, expecting him to be almost on top of you. Instead, you see that he has a gun in his hand. A very big gun. The last thing you think is that it is pointed at you. This series, and more specifically, this trilogy, almost always starts out with something exciting happening, instead of putting you to sleep. The main characters travel from Miami to Columbia to Panama, and all stops in between. The bullets fly and the blood flows, with very little lag time in between the exciting moments are shaved down to the bare minimum, keeping the reader interested throughout the whole book.
