Bleach, Volume 3

It was another great installment in this series. We see the back story on the main character, and in the end there is some vague foreshadowing. There's still a lot of humor in the book and I love the art! Bleach remains a worthwhile series.

Awesome

Well, this is the third volume of Tite Kubo's Manga, "Bleach." It was one of my favorite volumes so far! It says a lot about Ichigo's past, including what happened to his mother. There are of course many comedic moments, as well as some great fight scenes. But, this volume is mostly explaining Ichigo's past, so, if you're looking for something with just an all-out battle from cover to cover, this is not for you. It does have an awesome fight scene, but it doesn't engulf the whole book. It has a very good plot, and I highly recommend it! But, it is moslty aimed at boys around 12-15, (even though I'm a girl) so, if you're an adult who likes more adult manga you wouldn't like it. I hope I helped you make a good selection for your manga! And, if you do order this, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

Best installment so far in any of the manga I've read this year.

Tite Kubo, Bleach: Memories in the Rain (Viz, 2002) Memories in the Rain shows why Bleach is such a well-loved and long-running series. Kubo completely shifts gears here and pulls it off with aplomb. While there's still a good deal of action to be found, the core of this volume is Ichigo at his mother's graveside, contemplating her death and his part in it. Kubo does reflective as easily as he does action, and there's some real emotion to be found in these pages. Strongest volume in the series so far. ****

Bleach OWNS!!!!!!!

This is so the best series Ive come across ever! Story is AWESOME and the artwork is INCREDIBLE. You have to be an idiot to not like this series! COME ON!!! Slicing up ghost with sick ninja moves, everyone a bloody mess, stylish pics, ect..... Just buy the damn book and find out!!! ....The anime sucked btw. Get the books. Dont be fooled.

Ichigo Remembers Mommy... And Fights Her?

This volume of Bleach follows Ichigo as he remembers his mother and the circumstances behind her death. Eventually, a hollow shows up to wreck Ichigo's day of mourning, yet this hollow seems to have a direct connection to Ichigo's mother's death, and this is one connection Ichigo can't forgive. Along the way, we are introduced to Kon, the teddy bear body of the mod soul introduced in the previous volume. And Orihime and Tatsuki, Ichigo's classmates, discuss the events surrounding Ichigo's mother's death. Most of this volume is back story and the fighting of the same creature, so it lost a little of the speed that was introduced in the first volume. But this was one of those inevitable slow-downs, as the events in this volume are important in making the characters more lovable, especially Ichigo. Seeing him as a cry-baby youngster and seeing the change that happened because of his mother's death really solidifies his tough-guy attitude, which is really a defense mechanism to keep people away from him and out of danger. This will become obvious to you once you read this volume (and I assure you, this isn't a spoiler as none of this is mentioned). Still, even though this volume slowed a bit I still have to recommend it, mainly because of the ending cliff-hanger, as it appears to introduce a true antagonistic force. Plus, the art is still the same and comedy, when it's there, is enough to smile at, even if most of it is unoriginal.
