Off the hook!!!!

After reading the excert, I could not wait to buy the book! And boy was I pleased, I read the book in one day. This makes you laugh, and cry. I was so impressesed by the book that I had my little sister read it (she is not an avid reader), and she read it in one day too. Tracy Brown, I'm anxiously waiting for your next one....

Wonderful!

This book was great! I read this book in one day. It will have you happy, angry and sad. Kaia's goes through some real tough times, but with love, loyalty and friendship, she is able to come to grips with all that life has thrown at her. Now this book is not your typical "street life" book, but has the elements. You will find yourself hating certain characters, while loving others. I laughed and cried while reading this book. This is a must read. It was simply wonderful!

From Cocoon to Butterfly

This book was good. I wish it was a little longer but hey I did not write it. Tracy Brown really showed us how Kaia evolved. This book is a must read. You will cry, laugh and also say yeah I hate this broad. N-E-WAY to sum it up:Kaia was a strong independent person. She tolerated a lot. All her heart ache would finally be eased.Sympathy was that girl. She was down for hers and really knew who her friends were. She cherished them all and they was grateful.Aaron was cool a little dumb at times but hey he is a man. Once he got it together he was able to act like one. This book is a great read. Go pick it up. You will not be diappointed.

This book was like that.

I not too long ago had the pleasure of reading Black. I say pleasure, because this book was a joy to read. At first I had mixed feelings about it because it seemed a little softer than what I'm used to. Once I got into the story, I was really digging it.I was cheering for Kaia and Aaron, and I was touched by Symphany. That chick Gisell just left a bad taste in my mouth. That broad deserved everything she got.Black is what's up and I'm just waiting for it to make the best seller's list. Take a bow, Tracy. You did you.

BLACK, BY TRACY BROWN

When I started reading this book I immediately connected with the tradgedy's and triumphs of Kaia. I couldn't put the book down until I was finished. The fact that the book is titled "BLACK" doesn't really give anyone a clue as to what the book is really about. But the book leaves more to the imagination with a title as simple as that. I am a white woman who grew up with all races, especially black people. I was able to feel the pain for this character. I felt the joys. I also felt and knew the feeling of her being afraid of her mother. This book brought up more emotions than one would imagine. This book made me laugh, it made me angry, it made me happy, and it also made me cry and cry and cry! As a matter of fact I went to work the next day with swollen eyes. I feel that Tracy Brown went to the extreme on her first novel. To be able to make people feel the emotions of the characters in a book is strong and is not an easy task. No matter what race you are this book is a great book to read especially if you are ignorant to the fact of what really happens in other peoples lives. Great job Tracy! And my sincere thanks for the swollen eyes! I cried way after the book was finished! Until your next book.....
