A fast-paced, HOT read!

Vivid characters, lots of steam, and incredible romance describe this book. I loved every word. I get so tired of the mamby pamby books that refuse to be REAL. This book was real, especially in the love scenes. Do yourself a favor and pick it up. Carrie Alexander never fails to entertain!

Here I am surfing through some of my favorite Temptations and I find a review I simply MUST disagree with...BLACK VELVET was sexy and daring and a whole lot of fun. Carrie Alexander always delivers a great read and this book is the first in a delicious series.

Black Velvet is as erotic as Carrie Alexander's first book, Fancy-Free, was funny! I love how Jericho gradually uncovers the Madame X side to Amalie Dove's personality...the backseat of a limousine love scene is hot enough to melt a Minneapolis blizzard. And the Black Velvet chapter "teasers" that continue throughout the book are even hotter! Comic relief is provided by Lil Wingo, the hungry photographer who eats a potato chip off her sweater (and also all other food in sight) and the gang at Una's cafe who help Amalie evade the horde of reporters. The variety of settings, rich descriptions and well-matched couple make Black Velvet a five star, red hot romance. I'm reading the next book in the series right away!
