Fantastic!.

Bite is yet another brilliant horror novel from the master, Richard Laymon. Very addictive and suspencefull with a generous portion of Laymon's usual sense of humour added in - this book had me laughing out loud quite a few times. Also, I think that this one of his more suspencefull novels (of the fifteen or so that I have read) especially in the opening chapters. While Sam and Cat where waiting for the vampire to arrive I was pratically tearing through the pages to see what would happen and this is the only book that has made me do that. I was very impressed with the suspence and tension. Although, I really loved this book, a warning to fans of vampire novels: the vampire is only a major part of this novel for the first 100 pages, the last three quaters or so revolve around Cat and Sam's encouter with a psychopathic drifter who they give a lift in their car (while trying to dispose of the vampire's body). Although the vampire is present all the way through the book, it is sort of pushed into the background until the very end. The ending of the book which also very good with multiple plot twists during the last few chapters. I also liked the characters as they were well fleshed out and all had their own personalities.

BITE HAS BITES

BITE is undoubtedly one of the best Laymon out there. Suspenseful, sexy, scary, with believable characters and a plot so intelligently drawn one can't stay away from the novel. Sure, Laymon is clearly obsessed with the female forms, but his take on horror is such a talented one that anything else he comes up with is worth the time and diversion. BITE is a must read, period.-----Martin Boucher

BITE is one of Laymon's BEST pieces!

I've never passed on/shared a book with more people than I did with Bite! At the end of each chapter it draws you into the next chapter in such a way that you can't put it down! I've never read a book like Bite before, as it literally makes you want to say - What are you doing! When the people in it do something which you can see is only going to make the situation worse! But, that's half the fun of it, as you never know just what is around the corner in a Laymon book. Especially in Bite.

More Bite for your Buck

This is a great story that begins where most vampire novels end. If this book were a film at Universal Studios, it would be called "On the Road meets Interview with a Vampire". The fun begins when the vampire is killed, and the protaganist and his ex-girlfriend have to get rid of the body. The book really takes off from here and the Laymon roller coaster ride begins. Richard has a way of pacing a book that seems so effortless, but takes off with reckless abandon. DO NOT OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY WHILE READING THIS BOOK. Anyone who has ever read a book by Mr. Laymon knows that they are in for one heck (Hi, Mom) of a ride!

SINK YOUR TEETH INTO THIS......

This is Laymon in his best form,of course.....Read this book a long time ago ,and loved it from beginning to end.....As soon as this book hits the shelves over in the States you guys, make sure you rush right on down to the store and grab a copy.......I guarantee, you dont want to miss this
