A collection of science facts where the numbers are generally just supportive
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 14 years ago
Contrary to the title, this book is more about science than it is about big numbers. While the numbers are certainly there, for example the appearance of Avogadro's number when talking about molecules, the numbers are often supportive rather than primary. For example, in the sections about the atmosphere of Venus relative to Earth and the movement of glaciers the numbers are secondary. Within the bounds of being brief, the science is accurate and interesting, like the best snippets, they generate an interest in more detail about the subject. If you have an interest is short and direct science facts, then this is a book for you. The science covered is all the way from cosmology to the structure of protons.
